Revive a Dead Car with a Jump Start

In order to revive a dead car battery, you have to connect the car battery to another one that is charged. This is done by attaching jumper cables to a good battery and then connecting the jumper cables to the dead battery. The black terminal must connect with the black wire of the cables.

Connect the positive terminals on both batteries using the red wire and clamps. Once both batteries are connected, it is possible to transfer some power from the good battery to the bad one. Once the jumper cables are in place, turn on the good car to begin transferring power.

The bad battery usually only takes a few minutes of charging to have enough power to start. Once you are able to start the dead car, you can disconnect the jumper cables. Allow the once dead car to run for about twenty minutes to give the dead battery time to fully charge.
